Applying skills and techniques learned in previous projects, create a cohesive set of photographs that work together as a series, chronologically, connected visually, or united by a common concept or idea.

In developing your concept, consider the following:

·      Do the images work as a series in tonal range, exposure and composition? Do they look like a series?

·      Do the images work together to create a new meaning or understanding that would not be possible with single, separate images?

Applying skills and techniques learned in previous projects, students will creatively design their imagery to communicate visually. Students will learn image composition through framing, line, shape, pattern, color, and content in coordination with exposure and equivalent exposures.

Shooting
Assignment:

Use image composition and 2 dimensional design concepts to enhance image quality. 

Shoot a minimum of 35 exposures.

Submit 1 contact sheet and 10 5x7inch images submit digitally and one 8.5 x 11inch print. 

For
each
frame:

1.Find a camera angle, focal length and framing that demonstrates strong compositional choices and design skills within the image.

2.Choose an exposure that produces the desired tonal range. 

Recommendation: In each scene shoot several versions so that you can choose the best final image. Frequently it is the second or third composition that works best.

EXPOSURE NOTES

Digital Exposure Assignment

1.  Exposure log

2. Printed contact Sheet (Includes 7 scenes with the 5 bracketed shots in each scene)

3. 7 scenes with the 5 bracketed shots placed in 2x2 cell template rotate to fit.  Submit a folder of 14 files using this naming strategy Mark_Scene1-a.jpg, Mark_Scene2-b.jpg

4. Edit 3 different images submit jpg's digitally
       a. Crop
       b. Levels adjustment
       c. Burn and dodge
       d. convert to black and white

5. Print one of three edits 8 x 11 inches
