Image Design Assignment

Design concepts to be used in 35 Frames shot digitally

•  Foreground/Background
•  Simplicity
• Rule of Thirds
• Shape
• Line
• Balance
• Framing
• Avoid Mergers
• Repition
• Positive / Negative Space
• Emphasis
• Contrast
• Perspective & distance

Applying skills and techniques learned in previous projects, students will creatively design their imagery to communicate visually. Students will learn image composition through framing, line, shape, pattern, color, and content in coordination with exposure and equivalent exposures.
Shooting
Assignment:
Use image composition and 2 dimensional design concepts to enhance image quality. 
Shoot a minimum of 35 exposures.
Submit 1 contact sheet and 10 5x7inch images submit digitally and one 8.5 x 11inch print. 
For
each
frame:
1.Find a camera angle, focal length and framing that demonstrates strong compositional choices and design skills within the image.
2.Choose an exposure that produces the desired tonal range. 
Recommendation: In each scene shoot several versions so that you can choose the best final image. Frequently it is the second or third composition that works best.
EXPOSURE NOTES
1. State most important composition/design idea that can be found in the image.

2. State what is the composition idea of the image. 
 
3. Fill out exposure log that corresponds to contact sheet.
Grading
15 points for technical quality
15 points for creativity and visual impact
